"Alligator Baby"-Robert Munsch

This is a fantasy/science fiction book. One night a mother is ready to have her baby, but instead of going to the hospital they go to the zoo. They finally get the baby home and are ready to show the baby to their daughter Kristen, but Kristen realizes that the baby it’s not human that it is and alligator. When she tell her mother this she thinks that Kristen is just jealous, that is until the baby alligator bites the mothers nose. So the parents head back to the zoo to get the baby but they get a baby seal instead and the same thing happens with Kristen. This happens one more time with a baby gorilla, so Kristen decides to take matters into her own hands and rides her bike to the zoo to get her brother. Kristen is successful, but when she gets home they do not know what they are going to do about the other babies from the zoo. That is until all the babies parents bust through their front door to get their babies.
This is a very funny book that students would enjoy reading. I would have students to point out the parts of the story that would never happen. Then I would have the students write their own fantasy
